"The report above uses a proposed framework, using life cycle assessment, that enables quantification of environmental impact of a transport system i.e. electric vehicles. The results were found to be sensitive to local settings and showed relative environmental benefits from range-extend and fuel-cell electric vehicles over internal combustion engine and standard electric vehicles. The report also suggests that the proposed framework can be expected to be reproduced for other cases and cities."

The result of the report showed that policies promoting behavioural changes to increase public acceptance of longer travel time as well as increased speed of public transport would lead to a more efficient decarbonisation by 2050."

"The study above presents MoCho-TIMES, an original methodology for incorporating modal choice into energy-economy-environment-engineering system models, which is used to realistically depict behaviour in transport and modal shift for decarbonising the transportation sector. The results of the report showed that MoCho-TIMES enables possibilities to perform innovative policy analyses and that the commitment to sustainability from the authorities is crucial for a paradigmatic change in the transportation sector."
